Well, another nice picture I would edit differentl Well, another nice picture I would edit differently today. Maybe I‘ll start revisiting old shootings and redo the edits. Or not.
Somehow it’s more fun to leave some things in the past 🤪
Still like the picture, but would probably edit it Still like the picture, but would probably edit it differently today - same cut but different emphasis.

23-33 out of 100 Project “Close up!” Over the pas 23-33 out of 100

Project “Close up!”
Over the past 10 years, I’ve completed around 250 photo shoots, each one capturing unique moments with remarkable women—each bringing her own distinctive style, energy, and personality.

To celebrate these experiences and the incredible individuals I’ve had the privilege to photograph, I’m launching “Close up!”: a curated series of 100 intimate facial portraits.

Each image is a tight crop focused solely on the face, drawn from a single photograph taken during our original sessions.

To create visual harmony across this diverse collection, I’m applying a consistent lighting, mood, and color treatment to every portrait—regardless of whether the original shoot was in black & white, nude art, lifestyle, or another genre.

The result is a unified body of work that highlights both the individuality of each model and the shared aesthetic thread running through a decade of collaborations.

The order of the photos is completely random, as is the first photo of each stack. This deliberate randomness keeps the viewing experience fresh and surprising—whether you’re scrolling through the full series or encountering one of the 9 posts featuring a grid of faces.

I’m excited about this project as a way to honor the women who’ve trusted me behind the lens and to reflect on what makes portraiture so powerful: the quiet intensity of a single gaze.

What do you think?

PS: Why 100 and not 250?

Due to publishing rights limitations, I’ve restricted the selection to shoots conducted under TFP agreements or paid sessions where I hold all the necessary permissions. If you’re one of my previous models and feel excluded, please let me know :-).

Portraits taken „in the wild“ just always seem so Portraits taken „in the wild“ just always seem so much more natural in comparison to studio work. Do you agree?
